3rd Highest Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek

This Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek visits both Kanchenjunga Base Camps north and south sides on the mountains. With an elevation of 8,586 meters.

It is the world’s third highest mountain and one of the least visited by tourists. It’s long and difficult, requiring a decent level of fitness but no climbing experience.

The Kanchenjunga walk takes you through lush tropical jungle, rhododendron, chestnut, and oak woods, and up to the glaciated base camp.

ITINERARY

Day 1: land in kathmandu (1,400m)
Day 2: kathmandu briefing and sightseeing day (1,400m)
Day 3: drive to ilam from bhadrapur (91m) (1,667m)
Day 4: drive to taplejung (1,800m), take a trek to mitlung (921m)
Day 5: chirwa trek (1,270m)
Day six: travel to sekathum (1,660m)
Day 7: amjilossa trek (2,510m)
Day eight: travel to gybala (2,730m)
Day nine: travel to ghunsa (3,595m)
Day 10: ghunsa acclimatisation day (3,595m)
Day 11: khambachen trek (4,100m)
Day 12: khambachen acclimatisation and rest day (4,100m)

Trek to Lhonak on Day 13 (4,785m)
Day 14: Trek to Pangpema (5,143m), Kanchenjunga’s northside base camp, then return to Lhonak (4,785m)
Day 15: Go back to Ghunsa (3,595m)
Day 16: Trek to high camp before Mirgin La (4,100m)
Day 17: travel to Tseram via Mirgin La (4,663m)
Day 18: day excursion to Oktang (4,730m), overnight at Ramche (4,580m)
Day 19: Trek to Torong (3,000m)
