Helambu Gosainkunda is a fantastic place to spend a week exploring the Himalayan Ranges. Gosainkunda is a sacred site for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Throughout the month of August, a major Holy celebration is held in Gosainkunda Lake. A mythical feature about this location is that it is covered with 108 lakes, the majority of which are visible during the trek.

The path will take us past magnificent frozen lakes, intricately woven Sherpa hamlets, vivid Rhododendron woods, different Shrubs, unusual Orchids, wildlife dwellers, and amazing views of the snow-clad Mountains.

We will also be able to see the spectacular Mt. Dhaulagiri, which stretches all the way to Mt. Everest, as well as the alpine yak pasture of Kyanjin Gompa.

The Helambu Gosainkunda trekking trek begins in Sundarijal village, north of Kathmandu, and ends at Dhunche village, Langtang area. Take the bus back to Kathmandu from there.

The wildlife that lives in the forests along the path includes Red Pandas, Himalayan Black Bears, Wild Boars, and Langur Monkeys. Snow-capped summits such as Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo, as well as Tilman’s fluted peak, are a must-see.

Day 1 :

Drive to Sundarijal, then hike to Chisopani.

We'll drive an hour to Sundarijal and start our hike near a small hydropower facility. The trail then enters the Shivapuri National Park and passes past the Tamang village of Mulkharka. We'll stroll up the ridges through an oak and rhododendron forest to Chisopani. We'll spend the night in Chisopani at a guesthouse.

Day 2 :

Journey to Kutumsang

On this day, we will leave early in the morning towards Kutumsang. Throughout the hikes, we may enjoy stunning views of the Langtang Mountains. The trail climbs the hill to another pass after passing through Pathi Bhanjyang and Gul Bhanjyang. We'll spend the night in Kutumsang at a small guesthouse.

Day 3 :

Thadepati trek

We will set off from Kutumsang and trek to Thadepati. The trails are primarily steep, winding through fir and rhododendron forest. There are no permanent settlements in the surrounding area. The walk continues until Yurin Danda, where magnificent and beautiful vistas of the Mountains can be seen. We'll spend the night in Thadepati at a small guesthouse.

Day 4 :

Phedi journey

On this day, we will trek from Thadepati to Phedi for around 6 hours. Our path takes us through many forests, across steep-rocky hills, and along the Tadi Khola. Ghopte, which is on our route to Phedi, has a couple of tea places for refreshment. We'll spend the night at Phedi in a local guest home.

Day 5 :

Cross the Gosainkunda River through the Lauribina Pass.

We will climb across Lauribina pass to the holy lake village of Gosainkunda. The view of the Alps from Laurebina pass is spectacular. This journey is best done in early April, when the entire hill is covered in dense, blooming rhododendrons in red, white, and ink colors. We'll spend the night in Gosainkunda Village at a small lodge.

Day 6 :

Exploration and ascent to Surya peak

We will explore the area and ascend Surya Peak. Gosainkunda is a sacred lake for both Hindu and Buddhist believers, and it is also noted for its beautiful beauty. On the top of Surya peak, we will have a spectacular view of the Langtang Himalaya range (5145m) This is an excellent opportunity to gain elevation and enjoy spectacular mountain views. We'll spend the night in Gosainkunda at a small lodge.

Day 7 :

Exploration and ascent to Surya peak

Hike to Dhunch

We'll travel from Chandan Bari to Dukhang, a small settlement of Tamang people. The 6-7 hour hike along the trail provides magnificent vistas of nature's riches. The trail continues to descend through an oak and bamboo forest. At Dukhang, we will spend the night in tented campgrounds.

Day 9 :

Return to Kathmandu by car.

We'll travel for Kathmandu early in the morning. The two-hour trip to Kathmandu offers stunning vistas of lush hills, mountain peaks, and rural hamlet settlements. You'll be driven to your separate accommodations. You will have the remainder of the day to explore the city at your leisure. This is an excellent day for souvenir shopping or exploring some of Kathmandu's more spectacular attractions. In Kathmandu, spend the night in a hotel.
